Meet Ali & Katy. Their mantra, “Always be casting,” is a commitment to continually discovering new talent, noticing the details in every performance, and creating space for talent of all races, genders, identities, and backgrounds.

Ali Coffey, CDG CSA

Ali is known for her high energy, positivity, and fierce advocacy for Ireland’s acting community—but beneath it all is a casting director with serious depth and a genuine love of actors. Her passion drives a tireless team, grounded in care, consistency, and integrity.

Fascinated by acting (and bored stiff by formal education), Ali left school at 15 to follow her instincts. After some time on screen, she realised what she loved most was the thrill of auditioning. Casting was the natural next step, and a lifelong connection to the craft followed.

AC Casting was founded in 2002 and has since grown into Ali & Katy Casting, working across a wide range of acclaimed film and television projects. A&K Casting is a Casting Directors Association Award winner and a three-time nominee for the Casting Society of America Artios Award.

Katy Moylan-Shorten

Katy (or Dedikaty, as she’s known in the office) joined as Ali’s nimble right hand in 2009 and is now an acclaimed casting director, and partner of Ali & Katy Casting. Proud of her Corkonian roots (and recently refreshed colour), Katy pairs instinct with sharp attention to detail.

While Ali has always had a personal aversion to formal education, she is damn proud of Katy, who holds a Master’s from Trinity College Dublin and Royal Holloway, University of London.

Katy’s superpower is recognising any actor, any time, anywhere—no matter how out of context. It’s extraordinary, and one of the many ways she stands out.
